In the Trenches with Christopher Bailey

The king of the trench, Christopher Bailey

I’d love for a guy to give me his jacket when it’s cold…but I’d prefer it if the guy were Christopher Bailey.

He’s the creative director at Burberry, a label that’s as British as tea and crumpets…or fish and chips…or William and Harry…or…you get the gist.

Food and hot English men aside, the one quintessential British fashion item is the trench coat, and nobody does a trench like Mr. Christopher Bailey. He’s been with Burberry since 2001, and in nearly every one of his collections, you’ll find a version of the famous trench. The textures, colors, and belts that accessorize the jacket change depending on the season, but the clean lines, the perfect structure, and that classic, chic silhouette remain the same.

It may rain a lot in England, but you can bet that if you own a Burberry trench, you’re wearing it rain or shine. And who could blame you?! Bailey’s designs are bloody brilliant! (Sorry). And with Burberry trenches starting at about one thousand bucks a pop, you better be wearing that gem every single day!

I don’t own one of Bailey’s designs, but if a man ever clothed me with a Burberry trench coat, I’d marry him on the spot. And if this man just happens to be an adorable royal ginger in line for the throne, well, that’d fit juuuussssst right.
