The best ads are supposed to grab your attention and pique your interest, hoping that if they can get a hook, they’ll be able to reel you in. Billboards are about the most in-your-face forms of advertising out there – ginormous ads lining highways, obstructing (what would be) lovely views of the sky, and pulling people’s attention away from what they’re really supposed to be doing…driving.
Billboards try to be clever, using little product puns and alliterations that they think are cute, but as far as I’m concerned, a good billboard hasn’t come along since the ones Jason Segel designed for Paul Rudd in I Love You, Man. At least, that’s what I thought up until I saw these doozies featured on one of my favorite sites, Bored Panda.
Touché you sneaky, witty, ad geniuses.
